Premier League Primary Stars

The children in Classes 2 and 3 have been very fortunate enough to be involved in the Premier League Primary Stars Scheme. This 10 week programme has included coaching from staff from Swindon Town Football  in the comunity who have been working with the class teachers.

The topics covered included ball skills, throwing, tapping and recieving, tracking and returning, ready position and interception. In addition to this they have also had PSHE sessions on positive playground and supermover sessions.

We were also very pleased to welcome two Swindon Town First team players to a Question and Answer session with the whole school and for support during one of our Premier League practical sessions. Many thanks to Toumani Diagouragea and Chris Robertson for visiting our school.

Later in the year we will receive some free equipment from Premier League Primary Stars.

I would like to thank the staff at Swindon Town Football and Football in the Community for making all this possible. A great big thank you to Chris and James.

Broad Town CE Primary School has benefited from Premier League Primary Stars kit and equipment scheme

Pupils attending our school, will be looking to hone their footballing skills for the 2019/20 season after receiving their free Premier League Primary Stars equipment pack.

Stocked full of items including Nike match footballs, training bibs and numbered and lettered floor markers, the Premier League equipment pack will aid teacher delivery of active lessons across the curriculum.

The equipment pack was awarded due to our successful application for this year’s Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment Scheme, which is delivered by the Football Foundation.

The scheme is part of the Premier League Primary Stars education programme which uses the appeal of Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children at primary schools across England and Wales to learn, be active and develop important life skills.

PLPrimaryStars.com offers primary school teachers free curriculum-linked resources in English, Maths, PE and PSHE, and opportunities for schools to enter competitions and access free offers like the Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment scheme.

Nick Perchard, Head of Community at the Premier League said: “The Premier League Primary Stars kit and equipment packs have been extremely well-received in the past and will provide a very welcome boost as we approach the end of the school year. We hope that coupled with the free downloadable online resources, we can inspire children to do their best in the classroom and on the sports field.”

As a school, we are delighted to have been involved in the Premier League Primary Schools Programme. The wonderful range of new equipment will continue to further support the opportunities we can provide our children.
