Remembrance Day

IMG_7477

We have been learning about Remembrance Day. We went for a walk around the village and saw the poppies. They show us where people lived who died in past wars.

Climbing Wall 22-9-23

We had an amazing time on the climbing wall. Coming down was as much fun as going up!

Our Fence Is Looking Very Smart!

We would all like to say an enormous thank you to everyone involved in painting the fence around the Class 1 outside area. It looks amazing!

Thank you to Mrs Clark for organising this and to Mr Walters for overseeing things on the day (and painting too!). We are very grateful to the volunteers from Nationwide who came for the day to get the job done. Thank you everyone!

Go Outdoors! 21-9-23

The Reception children enjoyed hunting for delicious blackberries today. They also were very creative, making pictures from natural objects.

Let's Rock! September 23

We had so much fun creating fitness videos and songs with Rocktopus. You can watch them on the Rocktopus website when you receive your special code.

Sock Puppets February 2024

We had a fabulous time making sock puppets on Wednesday. Each one looked very different. We all achieved a stamp for our Actviity Passport!

Swimming Superstars! Term 3 and 4 2024

Sadly, today was our last swimming session for this year. We all loved going swimming. We are braver in the water and have improved swimming on our fronts and on our backs. Thank you to Mrs Carter and Mrs White for coming with us!

World Book Day March 2024

We all had a lot of fun on World Book Day. We enjoyed dressing up as our favourite characters and Mrs Measures read us a story about some very starnge pets!. We also brought our own 'pets' to school and created an adaventure story about them.

Giving To Others - Christmas 2022

oak and furrows Jan 22

Thank you for all of your kind donations for our hamper. I delivered it to Oak and Furrows during the holidays. They were very grateful as they were just running out of fat balls for the birds!

We had a fabulous time at The Ho Ho Ho Mrs Christmas Show at the Swindon Arts Theatre. It made us all feel very Christmassy!

An Unusual Visitor December 2022

We were very lucky to share our playtime with this beautiful buzzard. We often see them flying above our school but this was the first time we could observe one so close to us. It made us all go WOW!

PE With Kingsbury Green Academy

On 1st March, students from Kingsbury Green Academy came to teach us PE. We worked on agility and balance. It was hard work but a lot of fun. The Kingsbury Green students were brilliant!

Internet Safety

We have been learning about staying safe online. We found these short videos helpful:

EYFS:

· Find the Jessie & Friends cartoons at: www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents/jessie-and-friends-videos/

· Watch Episode 1: Watching Videos with your child.

· Use open questions to chat about the cartoon. For example: What did you think about the cartoon? Which were your favourite parts?  How did Jessie feel when she watched ‘The Funny Tummy’ video? How did she feel when she watched ‘The Happy Croccy’ video? How did her feelings change? How did she get help to feel better?

· Finish by having fun singing along together at the end!

Year 1 and 2:

· Find the Jessie & Friends cartoons at www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents/jessie-and-friends-videos/

 · Watch Episode 2: Sharing Pictures with your child.

· Use questions to chat about the cartoon. For example:  How did lots of people end up seeing the pictures? What made Mo feel sad? How did the friends get help when they needed it? What did Miss Humphrey say she would do to help?

· Finish by watching the song again and having a sing-along!

Note: If your child wants to watch Episode 1 too, do watch it with them! It’s aimed at younger children, but it’s still fun to watch.
