Team Success July 2022

Congratulations to our dressage team of Henry, Emily, Ruby, Kacey and Ewan who came 5th in the Dressage Anywhere Winter/Spring Team Challenge 2022. 17 teams took part in the competition which ran from January to June. The children did a dressage test each month and gained points for the team. Once again, our team was the only one which consisted solely of junior riders (under 16). We are extremely proud of them. Many of the children achieved personal best scores during this competition and Henry has moved up to prelim level. On the last day of term, the children were presented with their well-deserved trophies. Well done team!

Thank you to all of the parents for supporting the children with their riding and thank you to the staff at Ashdown Riding Centre for all of your help and encouragement.

Celebrating Achievements 2021

What a year! It was lovely to see new members join us and 'old' members getting better and better each month. This year, our team was 10th overall in the national Dressage Anywhere competition. This is an incredible achievement and we are so proud of everyone from Broad Town School who took part.

On 14th January 2022, we had a special Zoom presentation of our Autumn League results. Terri Hemmings from Hat 2 Hoof Saddlery joined us and very kindly donated vouchers for our prize winners.

Team Success In 2019

Throughout 2019, members of our school’s riding team took part in the Dressage Anywhere Team Challenge. Each month, their dressage scores earned points for the team and we are delighted to report that our team came 10th. This is an amazing achievement as there were 32 teams entered and our team was the only one that consisted solely of children.

Our team members were:

Henry

Joshua

Freya

Isabelle

Emily

Ruby

Kacey

Thank you to all of the adults who helped make this possible. Well done to all of the children. We are very proud of you!

Equine Dentist June 2019

We were very lucky to be able to visit the farm and see the equine dentist, Stuart Philpott, check Boo and Marble's teeth. He brought a skull with him so we could see what the teeth look like, what they do and where they are in the horse's mouth. He showed us how they took away any sharp edges on their teeth. We also got to put our hand inside Marble's mouth and feel her teeth. Boo and Marble were very well behaved!

Thank you Stuart. We all learned so much.

Winter Dressage League 2019

Well done to everyone who took part. Some personal bests were achieved and there were lots of lovely comments from the judges. Just a reminder that the summer league will run from May to August.

Lots of fun was had by everyone at our October Rally. The children had a lesson and then we had a gymkhana. The sack race was brilliant!
